Commonly Asked Questions
It’s natural to have questions — let’s make things a little clearer.

What can I expect in the first session?
Your first session is a chance for us to get to know each other. We’ll talk about what brought you to therapy, what you hope to gain, and what feels most important for you right now. I’ll also share more about how I work and answer any questions you have. My goal is to help you feel comfortable, understood, and supported as we begin your healing journey together.
Do you work with people from different cultural or religious backgrounds?
Yes — absolutely. Olive & Clay Counseling is a space that welcomes individuals from all cultural, spiritual, and personal backgrounds. My approach is deeply grounded in cultural awareness and sensitivity, honoring the unique experiences, values, and identities that shape each person’s story.

Do you offer in-person or telehealth sessions?
Currently, sessions are offered through secure telehealth for clients across Illinois. This allows flexibility and accessibility while maintaining the same level of care and connection. In-person sessions may be available in the future as the practice continues to grow to a physical space.
Is what I share in therapy confidential?
Yes, everything shared in therapy is confidential and protected by law. Your privacy is deeply valued and respected. The only exceptions occur in situations where safety is a concern — for example, if there is risk of harm to yourself or others, or in cases of abuse involving minors or vulnerable adults. These limits exist to help keep everyone safe, and I’ll always discuss them with transparency.

Who do you work with?
I work with adults (18+) who are seeking support for anxiety, OCD, trauma, mood disorders, relationship struggles, identity exploration, and most commonly those seeking personal growth. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to each person’s unique needs.
What are your hours and availability?
I currently offer sessions Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Fridays with both daytime and limited evening appointments available. Specific availability may vary week to week. You’re welcome to reach out through the contact page to discuss what time works best for you.

How do I schedule my first appointment?
You can request your first appointment directly through the Get in Touch page or by reaching out via email. From there, I’ll guide you through the next steps — including verifying insurance (if applicable) and completing initial paperwork. Then, through the intake process, we will discuss if therapy is right for you.
